Onekama at Marion – Game 12

The Lady Portagers traveled to Marion for the twelfth game of the season.  This was a non-conference game but proved to be as intense as any other conference game of the season.  The game stayed intense with the lead staying within 5 points or less at the end of each quarter.  The Portagers were confronted with an extremely in-the-face defense, but played hard and brought home a victory with a 39-34 win. 

Jaylee put up another good offensive performance with 14 points.  Emily and Lindsay also put in 8 points each and Lexi put up 6 points.  Danielle finished the game with 3 points.

Danielle and Lexi led the defensive charge.  Danielle finished with 7 rebounds and 2 steals, and Lexi finished with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.  Brooke and Lindsay brought down 3 boards and had a combined 5 steals.  Jaylee, Ashley and Nicki each had 2 rebounds and Jaylee had 4 steals. 

 The JV squad will have a rematch with the MCE Cardinals in a make-up game for their next contest on Saturday, February 7, 2009.  The Portagers look forward to the rematch with the team that handed them their first loss of the season.  Good luck Portagers!
