The Onekama J.V. Team  Beat MCC, 32-24  in an Exciting  Game

Onekama vs. MCC – Game 2

The JV Lady Portagers hosted the MCC Sabers in another game which would be exciting to the end.  The contest was back and forth with each period ending with less than a five point difference until the last period.  Hard work and determination took the Portagers to a victory with a 32-24 win. 

Jaylee Brown led the Portagers in scoring with 10 points while Lindsay Nesburg followed with 8 points. 

Teammates Danielle Ward and Emily Pomeroy finished with 4 points and Brooke Sedelmaier with 3 points.  Ashley DeRooy added 2 points and Nicki Slater finished with 1 point.Defense was once again the key factor for the Portager’s win.  Lindsay led the defense with 8 rebounds and 2 steals.  Danielle added 7 rebounds and led the team in steals with 6.  Lexi Howard and Ashley finished with 4 rebounds while Brooke finished with 3 rebounds.  Emily chipped in with 2 rebounds and Jaylee grabbed 1.

 The JV Lady Portagers head into Walkerville on Thursday, December 11, 2008; looking to improve their record to 3-0.  Good luck Portagers!
