Onekama @ Bear Lake – Game 4

JV Lady Portager basketball traveled to Bear Lake to take on the Lady Lakers for their fourth game of the season.  The game remained a close one throughout, but the Portagers were able to keep the lead at the end of each period.  The game ended with another Portager victory with a score of 42-34.  Teamwork and good defensive pressure were the keys to victory in the match-up. 

Leading the Portagers in scoring was Jaylee Brown with 13 points.  Emily Pomeroy was next with 12 points. 

Other Portager scorers were Lexi Howard with 8, Ashley DeRooy with 6, and Danielle Ward with 3 points.

Defensively, Danielle led the team with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Lexi pulled down 5 rebounds and had 1 steals.  Emily grabbed 4 rebounds and had 5 steals.  Ashley added 3 boards and Jaylee had 2 rebounds with 9 steals.  Lindsay finished with 2 rebounds and 1 steal, and Brooke chipped in with 2 steals for the night.

The JV Lady Portagers improved to a 4-0 record and look to continue their success when they welcome the Frankfort Panthers on Friday, December 19, 2008.  Go Portagers!          ~Coach Torrey       December 16, 2008
