Portagers Lose to Vestaburg

football team suffered its first loss of the season in a 36-12 defeat at
Vestaburg, Sept.12, 2008.
Led by a couple of big plays early in the game, Vestaburg jumped out to
a 36-0 lead before the Portagers responded. |
“I did not have our team and that one’s on
me,” said Onekama coach Jim Hunter. “We screwed up and gave up a couple
of big plays early.” Onekama finally got on the scoreboard in the
fourth quarter when Adrian Norman scored on a 40-yard touchdown pass
from Dan Gillespie. The Portagers’ second score came on a 14-yard
touchdown run by Joerdon Daldos.
Daldos picked up 43 yards on 13 carries and led Onekama with 12 tackles.
