Portagers Lose Three Tough Games at MCE
Sept. 28, 2007 |
Friday night we traveled to MCE to play the Cardinals. I knew this would be a very tough team to play since they are very strong all over the court. We lost the first game 14-25, with the girls digging up some very hard hit on the net. In the second game we had some long volleys but lost the game 17-25. We turned around and lost the third game and the match 14-25. We knew going in that we would have to play at our best with no mistakes but we had some hit into the net and some coverage off the blocks we just couldn't dig up. Senior Kelsey Acker was the top scorer with 7 points with a 91 %, 21 digs with 6 spikes, and top setter with 20 and 2 tips. Sherece Revolt added 5 points for her team with 2 aces, 12 digs, 2 spikes, 3 set and 2 tips. |
Chelsea Miller and Paige Rutowski
both scored 3 points at 100%. Chelsea had 20 digs with 7 spikes, and 9
sets. Paige had 14 passes, 2 spikes and 5 sets. Stacey Keith, Ashley
Hobart, Katie Prielipp and Julie Schoedel all added a point for the
Portagers. Stacey was also the top passer with 42 digs, 1 spike and 13
sets. Ashley added 7 digs, 10 spikes, and 2 sets. Katie had 15 digs
with 1 spike, 2 sets and was the team libero for the first two games.
Alyssa Cole also helped with 3 digs, 7 spikes, 1 set and 1 tip. Olivia
Bolthouse also added a spike and 2 sets. The team played well together
but we new going in to tonight game this was going to be out toughs
challenge. We play again Tuesday against Bear Lake. ~ Coach Keith |
