 In J. V. action the Portagers lost in straight sets to the Panthers 26-24 and 25-23. " Both games very very close and exciting. Our girls played very hard and played very well."  ~Coach Keith Photos and Coach's report
Sept. 25 Manistee Catholic
In JV action the Portagers swept the Sabres in 2 sets 25-14 and 25-19.

Sept. 27 at Walkerville For the JV team the girls came out and won the first game 25-22.  In the second game it was really close, going back and forth for points but came out losing the second game 23-24.  In the third game it was another really close game, with the girls working very hard together on the team but losing the third game for the match 13-15.  Ashley Schultz was the teams top scorer with 6 points, 23 digs and 4 sets.  Kailani Buckner helped with 5 points, 16 digs, 1 spike, with top setter having 9 sets, and 5 tips.  Elizabeth Schoedel scored 4 points and 6 digs.  Erin Brown, Tabitha Bellinger, Anna Veverica and Andria Reckow all had 3 points each.  Anna was the teams top passer with 29 digs.  We had five girls on the team tonight serving at 100%.   ~Coach Keith

Oct. 2 Bear Lake

Oct. 4 at Brethren 6
JV Team Won the first game 26-24.  Then struggles in the second game and lost 16-25.  They then turned around and played tought to win the final game 15-9.  Kailani Buckner was the team leader in scoring with 14 points, 6 aces with 15 digs, 1 spike and 14 sets and 4 tips.  Tabitha Bellinger added 8 points, serving at 100%, with 9 digs, 2 spikes.  Ashley Schultz and Elizabeth Schoedel both scored 3 points each. Ashley also had 20 digs, 1 spike, and 8 sets with 1 tip.  Elizabeth had 2 aces, 10 digs, and 3 sets.  Erin Brown added 2 points, 1 ace, 10 digs, and 3 sets.  Anna Veverica scored 1 point serving at 100% with one ace, 16 digs, 5 spikes with 2 kills.  Diamond Kimpel served at 100% with 4 digs and 1 spike.  We play Bear Lake tomorrow.  ~Coach Keith

The JV team lost two players tonight to the Cross Country team but they didn't let that stop them from taking the win from the Lakers.  The Portagers won the first two games 25-23 and 25-19 for the match win.  Kailani Buckner was the team big top scorer with 17 points, 8 ace serves, 6 digs, 2 spikes with 1 kill and 9 sets.  Tabitha Bellinger scored 6 points with 1 ace serve, 14 digs, 2 spikes, and 1 set.  Andria Reckow scored 3 points with 100% serving, 6 digs, 3 spikes, 4 sets and 1 tip.  Diamond Kimpel scored 2 points, 14 digsand 3 spikes.  Ashley Schultz scored 2 points, 7 digs, 2 spikes and was the teams top setter with 16 sets.  Erin Brown added 1 point with 1 ace, and 9 digs.   ~Coach Keith    Young Spikers Oct. 6

JV team lost in two games, 17-25,15-25.  Kailani Buckner was top scored with 6 points and 3 aces, followed by Anna Veverica with 4 points and 1 ace. Ashley Schultz was top passer with 12 digs, Liz Schoedel had 11 digs, Erin Brown had 8digs as did Kailani,  Tabitha Bellinger and Andria Reckow with 7 digs,  Diamond Kimble added 4 and 1 kill. Ashley was the top setter with 10.  " The girls played hard tonight but we just came up a little short. We split the season series with Manistee this year winning the first contest and our girls should be proud of their efforts.". ~Coach keith
