Pre-District game 5-27-08 against
Brethren, saw Brethren getting a 6-3 win over the Portagers on some good
hitting. The score was tied at zero going into the bottom of the fourth
when the Bobcats scored three. Brethren then added 1 in the fourth,
Onekama scored one in the sixth to make it a 4-1 game just to see
Brethren score two more in the bottom of the sixth. In the seventh
inning the score was 6-1 to start the inning as the Portagers mounted a
comeback. Ashley Schultz walked Sarah Eipperle singled and Brooke
Sedelmaier walked to load the bases. |
Alyssa Cole then singled to score Schultz, with bases
loaded and two outs Paige Rutowski had a pinch hit single to score the
Eipperle and make the score 6-3. With two outs and bases loaded Kieran
O'Connor came to the plate and ripped one up the middle that the pitcher
got her glove and it deflected the ball to the short-stop who made the
play. Onekama was led at the plate by all four of its seniors Cole with
two hits, Kelsey Acker, O'Connor and Eipperle each had a hit as did
juniors Chelsea Miller and Rutowski.
