Onekama defeats Walkerville

Congratulations to the Varsity Golf Team on their win over Walkerville in WMD Conference play May 8, 2008, at the Heathlands. Levi Capper was the match medalist shooting a 40.  Jake Matthews shot a 43 , Drew Griswold a 48 and Josh Cebula a 50 for a combined team score of 181 to Walkerville’s 227.
Shooting but not factoring into the scoring was Brenner Johnson’s 52 and Cody Sievert’s 60.  Chase Callaway shot a 57, Mike Swanson a 73 and Ricky Superczynski a 70.  Derek Hobart, Skyler Kimpel, Andy Allen, Tabitha Bellinger and Paul Cunningham also shot but did not complete a 9 hole round of play

  All team members saw their last regular season play last evening. Where did the season go already?!  What seemed like an eternity with the new sport seasons to bring Golf season back around, we are now looking at the fast approaching District and Regional matches. The Portagers are now 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference. My heart beats with excitement as the final matches quickly arrive. Coach Zadow has been tweeking and fine tuning the team in preparation of the final matches. Continue to support our Golf team as they stake their claim to the titles they so deserve in District and Regional play as well as trying to smash the school record team low score!
