185 to 187 was the final score for the match, with the match medalist title going to MCC's Mark Bartosz.  The Portager's shot well today. Team low man was Levi Capper shooting a 41. Drew Griswold shot 45, Jake Matthews 46 and rounding out the scoring four, was Freshman Brenner Johnson with 55. Also shooting today for OHS were Chase Callaway ,who shot 64 and Cody Sievert, back after taking a year off, bringing in a final card of 59.

Team members reported back, that the wind really knocked down their approach shots, however, if they could catch the tail winds, it worked to their advantage as well. Jake Mathews was able to execute a tee shot for the 9th that traveled 330 yards, putting the ball within 25 yards of the green. " That is Tiger Woods distance," stated Coach Zadow.

There are some changes to the WMD Conference line up this year. Baldwin and Crossroads do not have teams this year, so the conference now consists of, Onekama, MCC, Brethren/BearLake, Custer, Walkerville and Pentwater. When playing Conference Jamborees, all teams will be present, however it will be dual matches only. The Portager's schedule has changed slightly due to the two schools not having teams and I will get that posted once it is received.

It's great to be back reporting! I'm rusty, but will work out the kinks! It's been a very long wait for  the new season to start. Hope to see you at the next match which will be 4-17-08 at Lake Side Links with Mason County Central.
