   Onekama defeated Coleman for their sixth win of the year PLUS the team qualified for the playoffs for a second consecutive season.

   "It's great," said running back J. J. Randall, who racked up 235 yards on 18 carries for three touchdowns. "Going 6-1, making the playoffs--that's what we wanted, and we achieved it. We achieved it as a team, and I believe we're one of the great teams around here."
   On the opening possession of the game, the Portagers strung together a six-play, 2:58 drive that covered 56 yards and was capped by a 26 yard touchdown pass from Dan Gillespie to Carlton Miller for a 6-0 lead.
     Between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second Onekama drove 85 yards on another touchdown pass from Gillespie to Anthony Reedy. Gillespie also completed a pass to Troy Rau for the two point conversion and a 14-7 lead.
   Gillespie completed all six of his first half passes for 116 yards and finished the game 9-13 for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Reedy had five catches for 109 yards.
   The Portagers fooled Coleman on a fake punt on the opening possession of the second half. Randall outran the Comets for a 50 yard touchdown.
   Randall's three touchdowns capped another impressive performance. He has 1,363 rushing yards this season.
   The Portagers added to their lead when Chris Dansby scored from four yards out for a 40-21 lead. Joerdon Daldos had 12 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown run. Chad Mallory ran in the two point conversion.
