Onekama
30 - Burr Oak 6 August 24, 2007
<- It looks as though J.J. has his own personal umbrella. Not true, he had to run in the rain like everyone else. And he sure did a lot of running! |
The first touchdown
was scored when Dan Gillespie threw to Anthony Reedy for a 48 yard
touchdown. The second touchdown came when J.J. ran 53 yards to bring the
score to 12-0. J.J. scored again in the second quarter with a 69 yard
run making it 18-0. Chad Mallory ended the first half with a 3 yard
touchdown to take the score to 24-0.
In the second half J.J. made a 40 yard run for Onekama's last touchdown of the game for a final score of 30-0. (He also had a 60 yard touchdown called back, but I told him I'd count it anyway.) |
Daldos led in tackling
with 14. Randall had 11 tackles. The defense had 3 fumble recoveries and
an interception with a five yard return by Daldos. Nathan Morrill and
Gillespie each recovered a turnover.
Totally, the Portager team had 295 yards rushing and another 66 yards passing. According to Coach Hunter, "It's nice to get one under our belt. We had a lot of young kids playing tonight, some in the first varsity game, some in their first football game. It's a good start." |
