Take Second at WSCC Quiz Bowl Competition
The first game pitted OHS versus Mason County Eastern. The team
score was close in the first half, 30 – 45, but the Cardinals were
able to surge ahead in the second half winning 30 – 115. This put
OHS in the loser bracket where they beat Brethren High School in a
close game 50 – 45.

Their next match was against MCE again. Here they were able to overcome
their previous loss and win the match 55 – 35. This put the Onekama team
in the finals against Manistee Catholic Central. Because MCC had not
lost, the Portagers had to beat them twice in order to win the trophy.
OHS won the first game 55 – 25. The first half of the final match was
tied at 40 all. The second half found the Portagers ahead, but the
Sabers were able to pull out a victory, winning the contest 80 – 85.
