In game one Stephanie
Ashworth came through in the bottom on the 8th inning with a run scoring single to give the
Portagers the win in the extra inning game. In game two, Freshman Sherce
Revolt earned her first victory on the mound. “Both teams played
excellent in game one, it was very exciting to go two extra innings.
We hung in there tough with some great pitching from Stacey Keith
and some great base running from Katie Prelipp who stole 2nd
and 3rd in the eight to set up Stephanie’s game winning
base hit.

In game two, Sherece pitched very strong. Being only a
freshman she will only get stronger as her confidence builds”.
Batting stars for the games were Stephanie Ashworth who went 4-7
with 6 RBI’s and Stacey Keith with a 4-5 performance with a double
and a triple and 5 RBI’s. A special “HI 5“ go to Alyssa Cole for
her solid play as catcher and Katie Prelipp for her solid defense
and aggressive base running. The Portagers take on the Pentwater
Falcon’s Wednesday in WMD league action.
