2006 Athletic Boosters Present Certificates to Scholar Athletes for the 3rd Marking Period 2007

At the May School Board meeting Dennis Zupin gave out the Onekama Athlete Booster Scholar Athlete to Junior Julie Schoedel  and Senior Talyor Fraly.

Julie Schoedel has been a cheerleader for 3 
years. She played volleyball for three years. 
Julie participated in SADD for two years. She  
has also been active in Band, 4-H, and Art.
 
Julie is the daughter of Kathy and John Schoedel

Criteria for Scholar Athlete

The Athletic Boosters ask the coaches of the qualifying marking period to nominate a male and/or female athlete from their sport.  All nominations are then turned into Duane Keith, athletic director, and Gina Hagen, Principal. 

The criteria for these nominations are Consideration of GPA, Citizenship, Team/Community Contribution, and Sportsmanship/Conduct. 

The awardees are then presented a scholar athlete medal for their varsity jacket. A certificate by the athletic boosters is presented at the next school board meeting following the selection process. All in all there will be 8 scholar athletes per school year (4 Male, 4 Female). …

Senior Tayler Fraly played football and basketball for four years. He played track for 3 years, and baseball for 2 years. He has helped with the
basketball mentor program. Worked in the Food
Pantry, the Recycle Trailer and helped by
being a teacher aide.
