| If only the game was played on paper. Then it would have been a walk in the park for Manistee Catholic Central since the Sabers defeated the Portagers by a wide margin earlier in the season. The Onekama JV Portagers were able to do something that Brethren and Mason County Eastern haven't been able to do. On Monday night, the Portagers defeated the Manistee Catholic Central Sabers 29-26 in Junior Varsity action for their third win of the season. Leading the way for the Portagers was Sherece Revolt with a game high 22 points. Paige Rutowski had four points and Olivia Bolthouse added three points to round out scoring. Elizabeth Schoedel, Kailani Buckner, Ashley Schultz, Katie Prielipp and Alisha Berryhill all contributed in someway to the win with a rebound, a steal, an assist or high five. MCC was led by Maria Peter's eight points. Onekama hosts Pentwater in the final West Michigan D League game of the season next Tuesday, 11/7. ...reported by Coach Harju |
