The National Honors Society held its annual induction ceremony April 27. New members and current members were served dinner by principal Gina Hagen, faculty members Kathy Graham, Micky Story, MaryJo Zadow and Debra French. The ceremony introduced new members Kristie Sievert, Alyssa Cole, Carmen Howard, Brittany Howes, Marssella Lavender, Jim Kosiboski, D.J. Williams, Alexi Callaway, Kaylyn Lavender, Donald Olson, Paige Rutowski, Anna Veverica and Alana Wiltshire. Honor cords were presented to graduating senior members Marlee Herkelrath, Kelli Waligorski, Ronnie Maidens, Nick Schmoke, Justin Sedelmaier, Meghan Nesburg, Tim Veverica, Todd Lyman, Shawn McKenney, Kayla Pesko and Kristie Sievert |
Each member is required to serve at least 20 hours of community service. Our membership acquired over 500 hours this year. These activity hours were gained during two blood drives, working at and collecting for the Toys for Tots/Gifts for Teen’s local program during the holiday season, raising money for the Smith-Evans family through a series of bake sales, distributing and packaging food at the local food pantry, and hosting our annual soup dinner. Next year’s officers were introduced and are: President Nick Bradford, Vice President Josh Briggs, Secretary Zach Yonkers and Treasurer Kieren O’Connor. |
