Mt. Pleasant Invitational

February 21, 2006

The ski team accepted one more last minute invitation, the Mt. Pleasant ski invitational. The race was held on Snow Snake where the Boy's team competed against 10 schools and the Girls were up against 6. The boy's team had a pretty good day placing 6th as a team. Sr. Dani Olson, who is headed to State, said she can't explain why or what happened for the girls or her at this meet. These were the same schools that she had beaten at the Cadillac Invitational at the start of the season. There are no lifts at Snow Snake, just tow ropes and the kids reported that it was like trying to race the bottom of cheers at Crystal. In other words no steeps at all...Dani smiled at me with a twinkle in her eyes and exclaimed," I guess I'm saving it for the state meet!" The girl's placed 5th as a team at this invitational. Mt.Pleasant awarded medals to the top 10 placings. The stats do not break down team wise for each event. Only overall team finishes for the day were listed.
