Benzie Invitational
The Benzie Invitational handed out medals for the top 15 places in Giant Slalom, Slalom and Combined this year and our team members brought some of that hardware home. Jesse Ketchum earned 2 medals and Dani Olson brought home 3 medals in a large field of racers.

Boy's Team GS:

The boy's tied for 6th place with Elk Rapids with 107 points for the Giant Slalom team competition.  Leading the Portager effort was Brethren's Jesse Ketchum with his 13 place and medal with times of :20.86 and :20.46. Garret Samsal slid into 23rd with :21.62 and :21.39.  BJ Jobbins finished in 33rd position with :23.73 and :23.39. Donny Olson placed 38th with :26.12 and :26.27.

  In slalom the team went on to accumulate 117 pts for 7th place in the event. Jesse Ketchum placed 18th with his times of :31.33 and :31.13. Garret Samsal finished 24th with :32.48 and :33.02 while BJ Jobbins came in 35th with :40.69 and :35.53. Donny Olson placed 40th with 41.66 and :42.00.

Girls Slalom:

 Dani Olson led the girls team to a 5th place finish in the slalom event with her 10th place and medal with times of :31.73 and :33.33. Kelli Waligorski placed 21st with :37.66 and :39.12. Monika Higley placed 26th with :38.21 and :43.20 and Emily Harwell came in 29th with :33.90 and after a hike on her second run a time of 53.61.

 Dani once again led the team to a 4th place finish in GS with her 11th place finish and medal. Dani's times clocked in at  :21.39 and :21.65.

Emily Harwell placed just out of the medals in 17th position with :23.02 and :22.11. Kelli Waligorski nailed 21st with :24.08 and :24.21. Monika Higley placed 23rd with :24.80 and :24.21.
