Tri-angular Meet at Champion Hills |
September 15, 2005 The Portager's found
themselves involved in a Tri-angular meet today at
Champion Hills near Honor. Benzie Central invited
Northern Michigan Christian (NMC) to this match as well.
Little did they know..(The younger team members) that
they were in for a treat and or shock, depending on how
one looked at it today. Tyler Moss of Benzie Central
Eagled the 4th hole from 100 plus yards out and finished
one under par with a 35 to be the Match Medalist.Benzie's
shooters were well in the 30's! |
It
wasn't all doom and gloom though for our young team.
Jordan Pomeroy was our lowman with a 46. Levi Capper shot
a 48, Todd Lyman 50 and Parker a 52 for a team effort of
196, just 3 strokes behind NMC's 193. Benzie won the
match with a whopping low 154. Also shooting for OHS was
Josh Cebula who carded a 53 and Hunter Slade a 54. "It's hard not to be intimidated by shooters like that even as an adult", commented Coach Zadow. One would have to agree ,it would be hard to shake off scores like that during a competitve situation(Benzie's). This match now puts the team at 3-9 overall and still 3-2 for third place in the WMD. It's not over till it's over folks! Anything can happen and our team is on the rise. Next match is MCC at the Manistee Country Club, Monday the 19th. With a 4:30 pm tee time, there is plenty of time to drop in and watch some holes played out after work. Hope to see you there! Your reporter and avid OHS golf fan, Gwen |
