Conference Meet October 4, 2005
at the Heathlands
Portagers beat Freesoil, Baldwin and Walkerville at The Heathlands today to reclaim 3rd in the conference as their own. The excitement continues over our Golf team as they produce personal bests, bring home 3 All Conference medals ,secure their spot in the conference rankings, and demonstrate what is to come in the future for the OHS Golf Team at today's Conference Championships!
Playing 18 holes,Low men for OHS today were Jordan Pomeroy and Parker Johnson each turning in a card with 85 on it. Levi Capper shot just one more stroke for an 86 and Josh Briggs turned in a 97 to become the scoring four of the designated six shooters for a team effort of 353 . Todd Lyman and Tim Veverica turned in 107 for Todd and 113 for Tim. Freshman Drew Griswold handed in a 89 for the 18 holes. While Drew's score was 8 strokes lower than the 4th man in our scoring four, we could not use it as he was not listed as one of the six designated shooters for the event. Had we been able to use it, the team would have overtaken Brethren/Bearlake by 5 strokes. Levi, Parker, Jordan and Drew all shot personal bests today and Parker Johnson, Levi Capper and Jordan Pomeroy each bring home Conference Medals. Outstanding job today by our team members! Congratulations!
