State Finals
November 5, 2005
The BL/OHS Boys took part in the State Finals November 5th at the International Speedway in Brooklyn MI. The Boys were off at the gun at 10:00 a.m. Our boys came away with a 3rd place finish and 3 ALL STATE RUNNERS as the top 30 runners are all state team members. There were 241 boys that ran in Division 4 and a total of 27 teams.

Here is how they finished as a team in Div. 4:

  • 1st St. Louis 127 pts
  • 2nd Bellevue 165 pts
  • 3rd BL/OHS 167 pts
  • 4th Grand Rapids Covenant Christian 191 pts
  • 5th Vander Cook Lake 194 pts,
  • 6th Hesperia 217 pts,
  • 7th Potterville 226 pts.
  • 15th Brethren finished with 395 pts
  • 20th MCE finished 20th with 484 pts.

Congratulations Guys on another great season as you had a strong 3rd place finish today To our Seniors whom have run there last race for BL/OHS good Luck in the future Josh Groenwald, Ryan Brown and Andy Desmmarais. TO Coach Dal Townsend and his asst. Anthony Torres on another great season
of BL/OHS Cross Country and by looking at the times they maybe some of season best for our guys to our the fans that have supported them through out the season and today at the State Finals Congratulations again on a great year as I missed being there today Dennis.

The send off from Bear Lake School Friday Morning
For the Girls, BL/OHS had one qualifier in Freshman Shelby Sidor. She finished in 95th place with a time of 20:56 her second best time of the season, out of 230 girls. Job well done to Shelby Sidor, to Coach Kelly Schultz, and to the team's one Senior Calai Schoedel. Good luck in the future. Big Rapids Cross Roads Academy won Division 4 girls with 132 pts. and finishing 2nd was Traverse City St. Francis with 159 pts and MCE finished 20th with 454 points.
