Ludington Briggs True Value Invitational, September 17, 2005 |
What
started out as a cool morning at WSCC for the Ludington
Briggs True Value Invitational turned into a warm day by
the time they got to the JR. High and open race about
noon. When the Varsity boys started the morning off at
9:45 a.m. it was nice morning for running. There were 20 teams for the Varsity Boys. They had teams from all 4 division and all 4 division ran together. When the gun went off, 140 boys took off. Their overall finish will be in parentheses [1] and their division 4 finish will be next The BL/OHS boys took 1st place in division 4 with 23 points 2nd MCE 45 and 3rd Hart with 52 points there finish is as follows. The Boys got a nice 1st place trophy. (Ryan Brown and Jordan Maxey didn't run due to injuries)
In the BL/OHS girls Varsity race, the girls finished 3rd with 72 points. MCE was 1st with 46 points, 2nd was Hart with 64 points. They also had all 4 division run together, and there were 131 runners total. Plus a deer got scared up in this race and didn't know where to go as there were people all over the place. First it slowed down a couple of runners, then it showed them how fast they should run if they wanted to finish first, as it headed for the woods.

In
the JV Boys and Girls race they put all the runners
together and didn't split it up by division. There were
no BL/OHS girls that ran. The boys finished 10th overall
as a team with 265 points. All upper division schools
were in ahead of them. Charlevoix won it with 44 point,
2nd was Fremont 56 points and Benzie Central finished 5th
with 111 points. There were 177 runners total in this
race.
In the Junior High race they also put all 4 division together and the girls and boys ran together. They took the top five runners from each team for their score --could either it be a boy or girl. And our Junior High kids did a great job as they finished 4th overall. All upper division teams finished ahead of them. Fremont was 1st with 51 points, 2nd Ludington 75 points, 3rd Whitehall 88, 4th BL/OHS 97 and 5th Benzie Central 134 points and 7th was MCE with 154 points. BL/OHS own Chuck Schodel was the 1st runner to cross the finish line in a great run. Ryan Pienta and Danny Brown were in the top 12 out of 194 runners Congratulations to all the Junior High runners as they did a great job today. Here is their order of finish as they only run about 2.1 miles
In the Open Class Jerry
