CC Regional Meet at Benzie School
October 29, 05
It was a very cold morning for the Regional Finals at Benzie but the sun was shining brightly to take some of the chill out of the air. Still there was still white frost on the ground as the gun sounded at 10:00 a.m. to start the Div.4 Regional. They were many BL/OHS fans on site to cheer for the boys and girls: parents, grandparents, friends, girl basketball players, classmates, staff members and many other fans. But the cold frost or bright sun didn't slow down the BL/OHS boys cross country team. They were off and running to a 1st place REGIONAL finish. All 7 of BL/OHS runners were in the top 22 runners to cross the finish line out of 73 runners.
  1. BL/OHS was 1st with 50 points
  2. 2nd MCE 100 points
  3. 3rd Brethren 107 points. All three of these teams qualified for state finals next weekend. All three are from the WMD conference,
  4. 4th place Traverse City St. Francis with 117 points
  5. 5th Suttons Bay 123 points.

For the BL/OHS boys runners Nick Swisher had another great run with a 1st place Regional finish and was followed very close but teammate Josh Groenwald as they were the one, two punch for BL/OHS today again. Their individual results:

  • 1st Nick Swisher 16:42 Medal for being in top 15
  • 2nd Josh Groenwald 16:54 Medal for being in top 15
  • 11th Nate Milarch 17:24 Medal for being in top 15
