Bear Lake Cross Country Boys Take

Shepherd Invitational Meet		 Oct. 15, 2005
On a cool and breezy day at Shepherd, the first race up in the morning was the JV race at 9:00 a.m. BL/OHS had Jerry & Bonnie Brown and Coach Kelly run this race as open runners competed at the same time.

For the JV Boys Andy Desmarais was the first runner to cross the finish line.

The Varsity Boys ran next and came away with a first place finish in the small school division. They had a large school and small school division. The wind was getting stronger and cooler during their race, but the BL/OHS boys won first with a score 30 points. 2nd was Evart with 84 points, and 3rd was Meridian with 93 points They got a plaque for their 1st place finish.

 The BL/OHS girls they had a 7th place finish in the small school division. Taking 1st was Clare with 42 points, 2nd Morley Stanwood with 59 points, 3rd

Ithaca with 93 points, and BL/OHS was 7th with 176 points. Their order of finish today was:

  • 37th Cali Schoedel 24:59
  • 38th Carmen Hayes 25:07
  • 40th Ronnie Maidens 25:39
  • 41st Courtney Swisher 26:00
  • 45th Anna Veverica 28:17

The BL/OHS Middle School could race today if they wanted, and five boys come to race in their final race of the year. For Danny Brown it was a little extra special race as Danny got to race his cousin from Shepherd schools. Danny showed Cousin Sam the way around his home course as he beat his younger 7th grade cousin by a little. Cousin Little Ben was there to cheer Danny and Brother Sam on at the Blue Jay course. For the Middle School runners, Chuckie Schoedel was the 1st runner to cross the finish line just as has done all season long
