OHS 13, Montabella 21

OHS lost its Homecoming game to the Montabella Mustangs on a very windy, rain filled day. Onekama had 249 yards and 8 first downs to Montabella's 339 yards and 12 first downs. Coach Hunter stated he was proud of the team. "They had good effort, an excellent comeback, but just ran out of time."

They picked up their offensive game in the second half and if they could have turned that on in the first half probably would have had the game won.

With all that wind and rain came slippery balls as the fans witnessed more fumbles than usual. OHS recovered 5 fumbles, but lost 4. Brett Cronkhite recovered 3 fumbles, JJ Randall and Meadows each recovered 1.

The Portager's leading Rusher was Tom Gillespie with 14 carries for 67 yards. Dustin Thomas had 16 carries for 62 yards, 2 touch downs and kicked an extra point. Dave Gillepsie had 10 carries for 47 yards and Anthony Reedy caught 2 passes for 40 yards. Setzer had 2 carries for 24 yards and Tom Gillespie got 1 catch for 9 yards. In Passing, Dustin Thomas was 5-9 with no interceptions and 73 yards. On the Defensive side, Dustin Thomas led in tackles with 13. Brett Cronkhite had 11, Tom Gillespie 9. Dustin Meadows had 2 tackles for losses and the team had five players who had 1 tackle for loss.

The King and Queen as well as the court were announced after the game in a very rainy event.

# 84 Sophomore Clayton Setzer got in 2 carries for 24 yards during the Homecoming game.
