Manistee
Invitational February 7, 2005 Mother Nature sent down rain once
again on the racers, but the teams didn't let that stop
them from enjoying one of the last few races of the
season. Ten schools attended this year's Manistee
Invitational at Crystal Mt. There were some very tight
races between teams as well as individuals today.
Onekama/Bear Lake/Brethren boy's placed 7th in GS and 6th
in Slalom as a team for 7th over all for the day. The
Girls finished 7th in both events for 7th over all for
the day. |
Boy's
GS: Chris Smith led the team with a medal and 9th place with his times of :20.89 and :22.32. Jackson Carter tied for 10.5 place with times of :21.57 and :21.70. David Fisher placed 39th with :23.02 and :23.48, Garret Samsal 43rd with :23.81 and :24.17, Eric Colbrook 50th with his times of :24.71 and :25.23 and Jesse Ketchum 52nd with :25.33 and :24.96. There were 60 boys vying for the top 10 medals . Boy's Slalom: Only one run was taken in the slalom event today. Jackson Carter led the team in slalom with his medal finish of 5th place with time of :28.01. Chris Smith placed 19th with :30.24, David Fisher finished with :31.44 for 25th, Garret Samsal placed 37th with a run of :33.14, Jesse Ketchum 49th with :36.50 and Eric Colbrook rounded it off for the team with :37.83 for 52nd. Girl's Slalom: The girl's also took only one slalom run today. The ladies placed 7th as a team with 97 points. Dani Olson led the team effort with her run of :29.80 for 11th place. Erica Jach placed 17th with :31.36, Monica Higley 29th with :34.39, Kelli Waligorski 40th for her run of :41.61. Emily Harwell did not finish. There were 51 girls vying for the girls top 10 medals. Girls Giant Slalom: Dani Olson was the top OHS/BL/BHS racer in GS today placing 22 with her times of :23.47 and :23.76. Erica Jach placed 30th with :24.80 and :23.71, Monika Higley 33rd with "24.63 and :25.48, Emily Harwell 39th with :25.65 and :26.43. Kelli Waligorski slid into 50th with "30.43 and :31.80. |
