Flushing Invitational at Crystal Mountain: January 22, 2005
The boy's finished the meet as a team in 2nd place. The ladies finished the day as a team in 3rd place.

Snow or lack of it should I say, has played a nasty role in the ski season this year, but with the approaching Flushing Invitational the team knew the weather would change. After all, it has snowed and snowed hard for every Flushing Invitational since they have been attending. Team members went to bed confident that when they arose for the race in the morning, there would be new falling snow. Snow it did, and the race went on as scheduled. The boy's finished the meet as a team in 2nd place. The ladies finished the day as a team in 3rd place.

Girls Slalom:
Monika Higley led the girls team to a 4th place team finish with her 8th place finish in Slalom with times of :34.65 and :37.83. Emily Harwell of Brethren racing with OHS placed 11th with times of :35.49 and :39.11. Kelli Waligorski came in 19th for the day in slalom with times of :41.48 and :46.52. Dani Olson experienced some troubles in this event coming in 22nd with times of :47.91 and 1:28.02. Erika Jach's first run was a fast run of :30.50, but she too experienced problems on her second run giving her a DNF.

Girls GS:
The ladies went on to place 3rd as a team with 46 points in Giant Slalom giving them 3rd place overall for the Invitational. Dani Olson led the team with her 7th place finish and times of :23.19 and :23.75. Erika Jach placed 9th with her times of :23.56 and :24.02 and Emily Harwell finished 13th with :27.19 and :26.94. Monika Higley placed 17th with :27.08 and :28.52 while Kelli Waligorski came in 22nd with times of :36.71 and :36.84.

Thank you Dawn Johnson for braving the weather to take these photos of our racers. Dawn will be back to capture the rest of the team members at future
races!
