Conference Finals at Schuss Mountain

Girls

With not enough members for a team score today, Erica, Dani and Emily raced on for individual scores at today's Conference Finals at Schuss MT.

Erica Jach finished with a medal for 10th place in the Giant Slalom event with her times of :33.81 and :34.05. Dani Olson was right behind her with 11th place and times of :33.93 and :34.04.Brethren's Emily Harwell placed a very nice 17th with 36.03 and :35.11.

In the Girls Slalom event Dani Olson nailed the 10th place medal with :46.24 and :48.24. Erica Jach slid into 12th place with :49.03 and :48.94. Emily had the misfortune of being DQld on her first run.

In the girls combined competition Dani Olson medaled 8th. Erica Jach tied for 9th and after their times between the two events were added she medaled 10th. Emily Harwell placed 21st in the combined event.Congratulations to Dani and Erica for being in the top 10 in the Conference!

Boys Giant Slalom:

Chris Smith led the team in GS with his 12th place finish and times of :29.86 and 29.06 . Brethren's Garret Samsal placed 19th with :30.62 and and :30.83. David Fisher finished 25th after taking cleaning up his second run with times of :35,05 and :29.28. Brethren's Jesse Ketchum place 26th with :32.43 and :32.66. Brethren's Eric Colbrook did well for his second race of the season coming in 27th with times of :32.76 and :32.89 and BJ Jobbins placed 29th with :35.58 and :34.92. Jackson Carter did not finish but had a first run of :27.45

Boys Slalom:

David Fisher led the team in Slalom today with his 15th place finish and times of :42.61 and :42.07. Garret Samsal placed 18th with :46.33 and :44.67. Christopher Smith had a nice first run of :40.44 but his second run came in at :58.29 giving him 23rd. Eric Colbrook placed 25th with :51.31 and :51.59. Jesse Ketchum's first run gave him some trouble and a time of 1:03.28, but his second run was a very nice :49.61 giving him 30th place. Jackson and BJ did not finish. The boys' team finished 5th overall for the day's event.

Boy's Combined:

  • Christopher Smith placed 13th easily beating the other two racers in the 3 way tie for 13th.
  • Garret Samsal placed 16th
  • David Fisher placed 19th
  • Eric Colbrook placed 27th
  • Jesse Ketchum placed 28th
  • BJ Jobbins placed 32nd
  • Jackson Carter placed 35th

Gus Lagerquist did an excellent job forerunning the race today as well as doing a superior job with manager duties!
