Bear Lake Cross Country
September 1, 2004
at Manton

At Manton tonight it was hot, humid, and partly cloudy. They do things different here for the CC race to get an overall winner. They run the 9th & 10th grades together and then the 11th & 12th grades together. Then they take the 2 best times from each group and the third best time from either group to get a winner. They medal down to 20 places in each group. Some of these times are unofficial but should be very close to right time.

The girls still didn't have enough to make a team, but running in the 9th & 10th grade race, out of 75 runners, the girls did well.

  • 22nd overall Ronnie Smith in a time of 24:32
  • 52nd Carmen Hayes 30:16 out of 75 runners.

In the 11th &12th grades

  • 9th overall Jackie Bladzik 22:55 Medal
  • 18th Ashley Zupin 24:29 Medal

For the girls Elk Rapids won the team event with 111:05 minutes

(see below for junior high results)
