Hat Day: Onekama's 4th Graders Raise Money for Tsunami Victims

It is good to help others that were in the tsunami because most of them lost their homes. Some even lost members of their family. Thousands of people died and even some are reported missing. Mostly everything was destroyed. The tsunami was not expected so nobody was reported to go anywhere until it was about a half a mile away from the shore. Some of the people were swimming in the ocean when the tsunami hit. All the people had to sleep on the floor after. I feel sorry for the people that lost family members and their homes. That's why I feel good about helping raise money for them.

All of the money from hat day is going to Asia. It is a good thing because it is giving the people in Asia food, shelter and water. Over 100,000 people have died. The Tsunami is a very big wave caused by an earthquke under the ocean. I feel very sorry for the people in Asia and hope no more people die.

Hat Day
Rebecca

On hat day we gave 50 cents to wear a hat. The money went to the people that were in the tsunami. The good thing about is that we did it for the Common Good. A lot of people were wearing hats today. Everybody in our class today was wearing hats except three people. A lot of houses and buildings were wrecked. I hope most of the people survived.

It is good to help the people who survived the tsunami because they need lots of help. They lost food and homes. They have lost family too. Bridges have been knocked down and cars have been knocked over. I think we need to help them a lot.

We are helping the people who got hit by the tsunami. If you donate money you will be giving people food, water, and shelter. I feel bad for the people who got hit. I'm glad I helped by donating. Some other people donated money to. Some people paid more than then needed to.

On December 26, 2004, there was a Tsunami that hit Asia. Many people died in it. That is why Onekama School has done hat day. Hat day is to help people to raise money so they can have a good life again. Hat day is when you wear a hat to school and need 50 cents so you can wear a hat. The 50 cents goes to the people who got hit by the Tsunami. It is good to do this because it helps them out and it is doing a philanthropic act. That is why I think it is a good idea.

I think that contributing to the Tsunami Relief Fund is a good idea because the people in Southeast Asia have nothing, but we can donate to help them. Almost everything in Southeast Asia has been destroyed by the tsunami. The death toll there has reached over 141,000 people. If you donate to the Tsunami relief Fund, you are helping thousands of people to get food, water, and shelter. Contributing to the Tsunami Relief Fund is helping the Common Good.

We are giving money to the people that lived where the tsunami hit. We are doing that by having hat day. If you bring 50 cents in you can wear a hat. After hat day is done all the money that was collected we will send to the people hit by the tsunami. I hope they can repair everything.

Bringing the 50 cents for the Tsunami relief fund was a good idea. It's going to help people get food, water, and shelter. Over 100 people were killed in the tsunami. That's not very good. I hope other people donate money too. I feel sorry for parents whose kids died.

Helping People

It is a good thing to help the people that got hurt or lost their homes in the Tsunami. It is a good idea to help them because they will not have any homes if we don't help them. There are a lot of people who don't have any homes in Asia. Some people need money in Asia for clothes, food, and shelter. You should give money to them so they get a home, food and clothes.

I think that hat day is a good idea. The money we are giving goes to the Tsunami Relief fund to help the people that are hurt, need a home or really sick. They say over 150,000 people died. I feel I really bad for the people in Asia.

I think that helping the people who lost the ones that they loved is good. There were hundreds of people killed from this 50 foot wave. Ninteen kids in our class wore hats and gave money to help them that really need it. They are living in boxes and under blankets. They work to clean up their town.

I think that it is a good thing to give the money to the Tsunami Relief Foundashion. I feel bad for the 140,000 people who have died. I hope our school raised a lot of money. On the news they said 140,000 is a death record. I like to help for the Common Good.

Today on Jan. 7, 2005 we got to wear a hat in school but we had to pay 25 cents. I paid to wear a hat. The money is going to Asia where the earthquake hit. I'm glad hat day was today because we can help them.

I think raising money for the Tsunami Relief is a good idea because a lot of people have died. Today we are raising money for everyone that was hit. Some might go to a Red Cross. Other money might go to people that need food and water. I think more than 140,000 people were hit by the Tsunami. I feel sorry for all the people that got hit or died.

On Fridy we had hat day. I think it is a good thing for people to donate money. The money will go to the people who got hit by the Tsunami. This is a good thing because over 140,000 people died. The rest of them need the money. It costs 50 cents for everybody, but some people gave more money.

I think it is a good thing that we are raising money for the people in South East Asia because of the Tsunami. The money will help the people who are hurt and it will help the people get their selfs back to normal. The money will also help them get back to their families. I am glad our school is helping the people in South East Asia.

Hat Day
Kaylan

Our money for Hat Day is going for Tsunami Relief. It is a fun day but also helps a lot of people. Like the people that got hit by the title wave. They have no food so the money will help them buy food and maybe houses. I hope they will be okay and the money helps them.
