Carson City Invitational Cross-Country Meet September 27

On Saturday the BL/OHS/MCC Cross Country team traveled to Carson City for the Don Baese 29th annual Invitational which draws a lot of good competition for the runners. They left Bear Lake school at 5:00 a.m. to be there in time for the race

Our 5th ranked boys continued on their winning ways by defeating 4th Rank Jonesville and taking 1st place with 95 points followed by Jonesville with 101 points. Leading the way for the boys in there overall finishing spot was 8th place Josh Groenwald 17:28; 14th Luke Allen 17:41; 21st Nate Milarch 18:09, 26th Nick Swisher 18:27; 30th Dan Diesing 18:33; 34th Andy Desmarais 18:44; 55th Nick Sidor 19:33

For the No.1 ranked girls, today just wasn't their day as they finished in 6th place with 184 points, behind Traverse City St. Francis who finished 1st with 64 points. Also finishing ahead of them was Big Rapids Crossroads Academy and Suttons Bay. All 3 of these schools will be in the same Regional on 10/25/03 at West Shore Community College. It looks like it is going to a very exciting Regional with only the top 3 teams at Regional moving onto State.

Leading the way overall for the girls was 8th place Sam Mitchell 20:57; 41st Sam Bladzik 22:18; 44th Elsie Ocelnik 22:28; 46th Renee Pienta 22:36; 55th Cali Schoedel 22:54; 60th Ashley Zupin 23:15; 80th Stephanie Keith 24:27.

In the JV race for the boys Alex Savory 20:30; Kellan Story 20:56; Jordan Wilson 22:30; Nick Schomke ??. For the Girls Jamie Kirk 26:38; Megan Girven 29:20; Crystal Luce 30:07.
NEXT MEET WEDNESDAY AT MCE A CONFERENCE MEET

The Middle School was in Traverse City on Saturday 9/27/03 and the boys took 3rd place and got a trophy and finished behind Traverse City West and Traverse City Central Division 1 schools Great Job Middle School Boys. For the only girl that ran Courtney Swisher finished 14th overall great job. For the boys 2nd Scott Mckeel ribbon & 8th Eric Maddox ribbon

Barb , Jordon dropped the camera off to you this morning as not sure what kind of pictures we got as gave it to Nick Swisher dad, Ken as I couldn't make it and they said the low battery light kept coming on.
