The Girls took 3rd and the boys 1st.

Girls Race: The Traverse Record Eagle today billed Mesick Cross Country Invitational as a Preview of the Regional as all 4 power house teams in Division 4 that will compete at WSCC for the Regional Crown on 10/25/03 were there BL/OHS/MCC, TRAVERSE CITY ST. FRANCIS, SUTTON BAY, BIG RAPIDS CROSS ROADS as most people say they are the top 4 teams in the state according to the Record Eagle. BL/OHS/MCC is rated 1 and Traverse St. Francis 4th in the state.

When the race was over Traverse City St. Francis was 1st with 42 points, Big Rapids Cross Roads 2nd with 48 points, BL/OHS/MCC 3rd with 83 points and 4th Sutton Bay with 98 points.

Erica Jach was 2nd overall time of 20:10 got a Medal:, 9th Samantha Mitchell 20:59; 20th ElsieOcelnik 22:11, all of the above got medals. Finishing 21st Jackie Bladzik 22:18; 31st Renee Pienta 22:54; 32nd Samantha Bladzik 22:55; 44th Ashley Zuipin 24:12; 50th Cali Schoedel 25:04; Stephanie Keith 26:35; Jamie Kirk 28:14; Megan Girven 30:20; and Crystal Luce 32:34

Boys Race: In the Boys race the 5th rated BL/OHS/MCC took home 1st place and the trophy by winning first with 71 points , 2nd Pine River with 84 points , 3rd Lake City with 100 points and 4th Traverse city St. Francis with 113 points.

The following is the times for the Varsity boys at Mesick. Finishing 9th overall Josh Groenwald 17:40; 10th Luke Allen 17:43; 13th Nick Swisher 17:58; 19th Dan Diesing 18:14; 20th Nate Milarch 18:20. All of the above received medals. Other
finishers were 24th Andy Desmarais 18:43; 31st Casey Pomery 19:01; Alex Savory 20:01; Justin Carter 20:11; Kellen Story 21:10; Jordan Wison 22:22; Nick Schomke 26:44; and Josh Vertalka 27:18.

Next meet is Wednesday 10/15/03 at WSCC, the final conference meet of the season where the Girls and Boys will try to lock up another League Title. The Middle School will also be trying to repeat. This should be a really close race as MCE won the 1st one by 5 points and the BL/OHS/ won the 2nd by 2 points.
