Cross Country Meet at MCE

Boys: Leading the way was 2nd Luke Allen 17:19; 3rd Josh Groenwald 17:24; 4th Nick Swisher 17:35; 6th Nate Milarch 17:53; 8th Dan Diesing 18:12; 15th Nick Sidor 18:53; 16th Casey Pomeroy 18:54; 18th Andy Desmarais 19:19; 20th Alex Savory 19:53; 21st Kellen Story 20:19; 22nd Justin Carter 20:27; 27th Mike Coryell 22:17; 29th Nick Schmoke 24:48; 30th Josh Vertalka 25:48.

Girls: Leading the way was 6th place Jackie Bladzik 22:03; 7th Elsie Ocelnik 22:27; 8th Samantha Bladzik 22:32; 9th Ashley Zupin 22:42; 11th Cali Schoedel 23:35; 14th Stephanie Keith 24:42; 21st Jamie Kirk 28:16; 23rd Megan Girven 29:51; 24th Crystal Luce 30:53.

The girls took 2nd place tonight at the Cardinal Classic with Big Rapids Cross Roads Academy taking 1st with 29 points. The girls were 2nd with 42 points followed by MCE 3rd with 92 points

The Girls are currently ranked 2nd in the state behind Traverse City St. Francis and the boys are holding on to their 5th place ranking in the state. Now both boys and girls will move on to the Regional to be held at West Shore Community College this Saturday 10/25/03. At last word I heard the boys are to start at 11:00 a.m. followed by the Girls about 11:45 a.m. As the girls should be a very interesting race between four very good schools?: Traverse City St. Francis, Big Rapids Cross Roads Academy , BL/OHS/MCC and last year Regional Champion and Sutton Bay, who was runner up at state last year. The top 3 teams in the boys and girls race go on to state along with the 1st 15 runners in each race get to go to state.
