WMD Jamboree: Hosted at Onekama 5/5/04

The Onekama Portagers’ boys track team – those young men who are fleet of feet – finished first at the WMD Jamboree hosted on Onekama’s newly surfaced track.

The Portagers tallied 175 points for the win, followed by Mason County Eastern (MCE), 124.5 pts; Brethren, 116.5 pts; Baldwin, 46 pts; Walkerville, 42 pts; Pentwater, 3 pts and Freesoil, 2 pts.

Weather: Suspiciously nice. An unidentified solar object in the sky, later surmised to be the sun, was on hand for most of the meet, thus ranking the event as a two-layer (clothing) meet.

Chris Smith: 118' 3 1/2" for 1st place
