Danielle sits in the school hallway by her locker getting ready for tonight's game.

Rick, Olson, Maidens and Dalke (why do reporters call you by your last name?) pose for a photo while waiting to hear if the game was still on. Pentwater had called OHS to say it was raining down there and would call back with field conditions. A half-hour later, it started to rain at Onekama as well.

Danielle LaRue, Ashley Peterson and Ashley Dalke are the Seniors this year on the softball team.

Pentwater vs Onekama

The Lady Portagers lost 2 to Pentwater. 15-5, 1st game and a very good ,close 2nd game 9-8. Ashely Peterson allowed 7 runs with walks in the first Inning of the first game and Stevie Gillespie was put in to relief pitch. Ashley did strike out 1. Stevie struck out 4. Coach Fenstermacher played all 15 players tonight so not everyone played as much as they probably would have liked. Danielle LaRue and Amber Johnson as catchers let very few ,if any, balls past the plate tonight.Ashley Dalke played 1st base incredibly good as well as had 3 RBI's. Tara Lyman also had 2 RBI's.

In the 2nd game, they had the lead and should have had the win, but bases loaded and a walk changed all that. Allowing walks once again hurt the Lady Portagers. Stevie did strike out 4 in this very tight game. Chelsea Bromley had an awesome catch out in left field for an out as well as drove in a run. Erika Jach got a double play on a screaming line drive snag. Amber Johnson had 1 RBI and scored 1. Tara Lyman had a double and 2 RBI's. Ashley Peterson, Erika Jach and Ginny Carlson all had 1 RBI. Harthun scored 3 times. Dani Olson played well tonight also.

Ginny Carlson wasn't going to let the rain bother her!

With no word from Pentwater school by 2:30pm, Principle Gina Hagen called them to verify if the game was still on. With word from her that it is still a go, the teams make their run for the bus.

Ashley looks out the rain streaked window and smiles back. Pentwater reports good field conditions. As it turned out, the weather did clear for the game.
