As the next MCC batter stepped up to the plate, Erika moved up off of third base. The play was about to happen and the MCC runner on third was ready to make her move as well. Erika did great job out there tonight.

The team did an excellent job fielding and holding the sabers. The score stood just 2-0 , sabers, middle of the second game.

Coach Fenstermacher watches the next play from the dugout doorway. Even though the girls couldn't make it to first base safely most of the time, there were some excellent hits and fantastic fielding tonight.

MCC vs Onekama

Onekama lost 11-1 and 10-0

The lady Portager's fielding was some of the best fielding to date. Getting MCC out 1,2,3 at the plate, or first base, or even the exceptional fielding by Amber Maidens tonight just couldn't make up for the lack of being able to get to first base. They lost the first game 11-1. Bonnie had a single and stole a base home for the only score. The girls hit a lot of singles, but most always out at first base. Ginny started pitching the first game and Tara Lyman relief pitched, striking out 2 sabers Amber Maidens caught a beautiful fly ball.

In the second game which was 10-0 Sabers. Bonnie Harthun, Erika Jach, and Ginny Carlson all had 2 singles each. Revolt and Lyman both had 1 single. Dalke had a double and one single. Stevie Gillespie struck out 4 and had 2 singles.

Erika moves up from third base as Tara gets ready to throw the pitch.

Tara struck out two Sabers at tonight's game.

The girls watch the game closely from the dugout. There wasn't much of the usual cheering and chanting tonight. They were looking for consistent things they could head off that the sabers were doing. When they found one, they went out and made adjustments to counter act.

A Saber player manages to hit one of Stevie's pitches, but she only gets a piece of it and it is a foul ball.

AJoe Dontz and Justin Jones bundle up and stay for the duration to cheer OHS on. The breeze coming off of Lake Michigan was getting quite cold.
