Giant Slalom:

Once again the boy's team secured second place with 40.5 points in GS for a final combined of 2nd place overall.

Wiley Heller led the team with his runs of 19.22 and 19.29 for a combined of 38.51 for 7th place. Jackson Carter beat Wiley on his first run with a time of 19.05, but his second run of 19.55 for a combined of 38.60 made him settle for 10th place. Travis Berklund came knocking on their door with runs of 19.53 and 19.35 for a combined of 38.88 and 11th place. Eric Baumler said now wait a minute I can better that and flew down with a first run of 18.47...watch out Wiley! *grin* but alas his second run came in at 20.42 for a combined of 38.89 and 12.5 place. Alex Harris had 2 awesome runs, 19.84 and 19.74 for a combined of 39.58 and 16th. Joe Dontz rounded it out for the boys with 22.56 and 22.06 for his combined of 44.62 and 27th.

Girls Giant Slalom:

The girls finished 5th as team tonight in GS with 73 points. Kaylie Mathieu paced the Portager girls with her times of 19.91 and 19.94 for a combined of 39.85 and 3rd place finish. Dani Olson placed 20th with her runs of 23.26 and 23.26 and a combined of 46.52. That's not a misprint: she got the same time twice! Monica Higley placed 22nd with 25.59 and 24.37 and a combined of 49.96. Stephanie Griffin had the misfortune of DNF'ing her first run, taking her out of contention in GS. Charlette Kalbach and Amanda Redder did not start tonight.

Girls Slalom:

The girls team finished 4th in Slalom tonight with a score of 57 points , but it wasn't enough to pull them out of the 5th place slot in the final team standings. Kaylie Mathieu led the girls again with a 6th place finish and times of 26.97 and 26.57 for a combined of 53.54. Stephanie Griffin finished 9th with her times of 26.76 and 27.60 and combined effort of

54.36. Dani Olson had runs of 30.38 and 31.16 for 19th place and Monica raced down with 33.79 and 34.87 for 23rd. Racing 2 members short no doubt effected the girls' team tonight and the results will improve once the others are back to racing.

Coach Miller reassures a parent that their racer is doing fine and improving steadily, just as he wants. The first race to watch as a parent is probably the hardest one as you see your child speeding down a steep slope while bending around what seems like a maze of gates!

Christopher and Jackson give each other moral support for the first race of the season. Christopher for having to, for the first time ever, stand out of a race because he had surgery, and Jackson for his important seed position to place well in the race.

Even though Chris could not race tonight, he found other ways to help the team. Here, he awaits the return of the teams from course inspection to give them their race order.

Monica found herself lugging coats again just minutes before she was due on course! Anyone seen a manager around?! She needs to get to the start shack! She's a racer this year!
