The
OHS/BLHS/FHS Boy's ski team finished 1st in Slalom and in
Giant Slalom in the team standings today to bring home
the Trophy! The Girls team placed 3rd overall with a 2nd
place in Giant Slalom and 3rd in Slalom. Medals were
given to the top 5 placings in each event today as well
as one girls team trophy and one boys team trophy for the

Boys GS: The boys placed 1st as a team in Giant Slalom with a score of 13 points and four of the members won medals in this event, Jackson, Wiley, Eric and Christopher. Onekama's Jackson Carter won the event with a combined of :38.63. Onekama was the only Boy's team that did not have a DQ or DNF. Individual GS Placings for Onekama's boys:
Boys Slalom: The Portager's went on to place 1st as a team in the Slalom event with 28 points securing their First place finish overall for today. Inland Lakes's Eric Kovton won the event with a combined of :47.17. Wiley and Jackson both medaled in this event. Onekama was the only team not suffering a DQ or DNF. Individual Slalom Placings for Onekama's Boys:
Girls Slalom: The Lady Portagers finished in 3rd place as a team in Slalom with 46 points, just four points behind second place Benzie Central. Flushing's Julie Kehoe won the event with a combined of :51.66. Kaylie Mathieu led the Portagers with her 3rd place finish and a medal. Onekama and Flushing were the only girls teams not suffering a DQ or DNF in this event. Onekama's Girls Slalom Individual Placings:
Girls Giant Slalom: The girls placed 2nd as a team in GS with a score of 34 points, just 11 points behind first place Benzie Central. Benzie's Mikaela Gray wonthe Slalom event with her combined of :40.98. Kaylie and Stephanie racing for OHS both medaled in this event. Onekama and East Lansing were the only girls teams not suffering a DQ or DNF in Slalom today. Onekama's Individual GS Girl's Placings:
Stephanie and Kaylie get recognized for their medals in the girls Giant Slalom event at the awards ceremony. Kaylie was 4th and Stephanie 5th. The boys team took 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the medal race in the Giant Slalom. Left to right, Jackson, Benzies' AJ Zirkel, Wiley, Eric and Christopher.

Kaylie Mathieu races down the slalom course on the chair side of the course. Wiley Heller takes on the slalom course on the tree side of Thor. Stephanie Griffin makes the hairpin turn just after the flush on the slalom course. It was really starting to snow while she was on course! The Crystal Mountain Mascot stopped by to wish the racers well at today's race. Left to right, Christopher, Travis and Wiley have some fun with him! "My! What big ears you have!" Standing to the right of the table, Stephanie smiles as she receives her medal and listens to the introductions of the last four medal winners in the girls GS event. Kaylie Mathieu, in the red baseball cap, proudly stands in the medal winners lineup for the girls slalom event. Kaylie received the 3rd place medal.
