Thank you,

Gwen Smith and Coach Miller

Travis rolls up some of the fencing to help the Manistee team wrap the day up.

Once again Reporter Gwen Smith has provided "on the spot" photographs and text! Gwen attends the meets to cheer the team on. Then she rushes home to down load her camera, write text, and send the finished work to me by e-mail. I get the easy part: while sitting in a soft chair, with a cup of coffee, I make the page using her material. I really appreciate all you do for our Onekama Web, Gwen!

Spectator's watch as Chris skis out of the race corral after he finished his Giant Slalom run on the tree side of Thor.

Chris listens closely to Coach Miller in between his runs. Coach was explaining what he could do for the back pain he has suffered since football season. It included stretching and strengthening exercises as well as an over the counter anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling.

Breakfast of Champions! Ummmm...that looks like brownies and hot chocolate to me! It must have worked though as the boys team WON the slalom event as a team, as well as Wiley won the event in the medal race.

Travis stands up out of his tuck and slides to stop after his Giant Slalom run...he didn't get me with a spray of snow this time! I have learned where not to stand!

Joe and Coach Mathieu discuss Joe's run he just finished. Joe was smiling, so he must have felt ok with it. :)

Our very own Deb French from OHS came and took action photos of the team today! The team appreciates everything she does for them for the yearbook and team photos. We made sure to offer her lunch!, but she had eaten before she came up and only nibbled on ONE potato chip. Thank you, Deb, for coming to our races when time permits it!

After losing a ski near the head wall during the Slalom event, Eric skied over to us where we were gate keeping. One of the Manistee Ski Club men helped him with his bindings. Eric figures that his "DIN's" were set too low and that is what allowed the ski to eject from his foot causing a fall.

Wiley, you deserve that nap! You just won the Slalom event over 9 schools and 54 boys! Congratulations! (Wiley wasn't really sleeping, and he had a huge smile on that face!)
