Ski Team Does Super Job at Regionals Held at Crystal Mountain

Wiley comes through the finish line on his last run in Slalom. Congratulations Wiley on your medal and bid to state! Kaylie accepts one of her Regional Medals. I ran right up the stairs behind her to get closer shots of this! Once again, I chase behind Kaylie as she goes up on the deck to get her next medal. Congratulations Kaylie! I followed closely behind Stephanie as she went up for her regional medal too! The gentleman handing out the medals was a little too quick for me this time! Christopher's brother Bob drove all the way down from LSSU to surprise him at today's race! Having your family support you at an event like this can make everything go so much better. Travis and his father get a bite to eat before the awards ceremony. |
Race
Season isn't over yet for the OHS/BLHS/FHS ski teams!
Seems there will be another 10 days of practice still to
go as they prepare for the STATE FINALS! The Boy's team
placed 2nd overall today to win their bid for STATE as a
team, which will be held 2-23-04 at Boyne! Also winning bids to State as Individuals were Kaylie Mathieu and Stephanie Griffin from the girls team and Wiley Heller and Eric Baumeler from the boy's team! Coach Dale Millers comments: This was a very special day for us. Over the years weve qualified individuals for the state meet but never have been able to qualify a team.. Today the boys team broke ranks and did just that and we couldnt be more pleased with their accomplishment and great team effort. Were looking forward the state finals on the 23rd at Boyne Mountain with big expectations and also looking forward to good results next year for the boys and girls teams.. It was good to see our co-op with Frankfort and Bear Lake working together as a team. MHSAA Region 5 Boy's Final
