August 11th, brought the first official day of Football practice for the season, and August 14th brought the first day of practice in pads. JV and Varsity did drills together and the "split" will be announced soon. Good Luck to those JV vying for a spot on the varsity squad! There will be a Varsity/JV scrimmage at Glen Lake, August 22nd at 6:00pm.

Once the final drill was completed for the day, (correctly) and all water breaks taken, the squads gather around Coach Hunter for the wrap up.

While most of us were laying on the beach, fishing or just plain trying to enjoy what is left of summer vacation, the OHS Football team has been building their bodies into football machines. Many of the team members worked out in the weight room a couple times a week all summer long.

Chris N. enjoyed their mandatory cool down during the August 14 session.

Coach Hunter is interviewed by Greg Gielczyk sports editor for the Manistee News Advocate.

Mike F. is glad OHS football coaches take great care in keeping the team hydrated and cool during practice & training.

Joey M. and teammates are glad for the break.

The JV and Varsity mix it up on various drills orchestrated by Coach Hunter and Coach Taylor.

The Varsity squad is looking good, real good in this drill!

Coach Hunter and Coach Taylor clarify a few pointers after a drill was executed.

Freshman Jerry and Jim, sorry if I don't have your names right,....I warned you I might forget them by the time I got home....Now here's a couple of Freshman players I would not want to face in the scrimmage line...Good luck in the JV/varsity split! You will be an asset to either squad. ...text and photographs on this page were provided by Gwen Smith
