Here's your Portager Baseball Team for 2004!

April 19, 2004

On a very bone chilling evening, the Portager boys once again clean swept the double header against Freesoil making them 6-0 for the season to date. 12-2 and 9-5. Dan struck out 11 Pirates in the first game and had one hit. Joey Mitchell, Mike Fredericks and Tom Gillespie each had one hit as well. Freesoil gave up 11 walks in the first game alone tonight.

In the second game, Joey Mitchell struck out 7, Dan had a home run and Mike Fredericks went 2 for 3. ...Gwen

Dan takes his turn at bat.

The ball gets past the Freesoil catcher and our Portager boys score. The ball rolled under the fence, bringing to question "Is the run good?". The ump, coaches and ref's go out to the mound to discuss it. The runner was safe before the ball rolled out under the fence, so they allowed the run to count.

Mike Fredericks takes his turn at bat. This particular hit was caught though giving him an out.

Dan had an excellent game, striking out 11 in the first game.
