The misty, foggy, "feels like March", weather didn't seem to dampen the ski teams spirits as they scrambled to load all of the gear into two suburbans and still have room for the team members. You could see and hear kids going through mental check lists as they prepared for the trip to Boyne Mountain. " Home work"....check...."goggles"...check...."team jacket".....check...."where's my helmet?"..... check....."these skis aren't all going to fit, coach"......."We'll make it work"...check......With skis locked on top of the vehicles and the remaining skis and bags, suitcases, and backpacks loaded in the rear , the kids gathered around Coach Miller and Coach Mathieu for a rundown on the itinerary and what is expected of them on this trip. Each day is packed full of training at this race clinic . Everyone of the team members that is going to Boyne is sure to learn something and improve some part of their racing abilities. The team finally got all gear loaded and posed for a team photo as they prepared to leave the OHS parking lot headed for Boyne Mountain, Michigan for an intensive, but fun, Race Training Clinic. Cameras have been sent with the team to capture photos as they train and will be posted to the site once they return. Gwen Smith, Reporter |
