And so the story goes...............

(a personal note from your "reporter"....There will be no competitors from the OHS Ski Team heading to State this year, but not for the lack of talent, skill, nor heart and soul that each team member put forth. They have had a VERY good year. Many achievements and placings are on the books for them. Today's race was close among teams as well as individuals. Their love of the sport and sheer determination to succeed puts them number 1 in my book. Our ski team is a co-op of 3 rival schools, Onekama, Bear Lake and Frankfort. Yet, for a few months out of the year, they unite to become one. One team ,that made the other teams look twice many times throughout the season. Each and everyone of them demonstrated improved racing skills. Through out the season we had several medalists, we saw the boys team climb the ranks and place 2nd overall. These are the stepping stones to State, and Coach Miller will get them there. Under his watchful eyes and coaching abilities, he is shaping these team members into winners . Discipline, sportsmanship, leadership, maturity ,are just some of the qualities he instilled in his members this year. Throw in his many years of racing skill and experience and we are sure to get to the top.

This concludes the race season for the ski team. Our managers will be competing for medals at the Ed Johnson Memorial Invitational next Wednesday at Crystal Mt. There will be an Awards Banquet held "soon" where MVP, Captains plaques, Most improved and other awards will be given. Thank you for the opportunity to once again be your "reporter", and thank you also to Mrs. Eldridge for putting all the text and photos up and maintaining this wonderful site for the ski team!
