Head Coach Mike Waning and Assistant coach Adam Putney present the Team which included members from OHS, Frankfort and BearLake schools. Although these 3 schools may be rivals in other sports, the kids have united and worked as a single team for ski team. Pictured front row left to right with plaques, are Ben LaDuke and Ben Momber co-captains for the boys team, Caitlin Brooks and Kelli Hopwood co-captains for the girls team. All team members for both the boys and girls team received medals for most improved! Coach Mike Waning said all were deserving as each and everyone had overcome/conquered/improved on some part of racing.

Most valuable team members (MVP) were Ben LaDuke for the boys and Caitlin Brooks for the girls.

The team experienced some very thrilling , chilling, scary spills and crashes among team members this year. However, Ben Momber holds onto his reign over "best crash". Coach Mike Waning says that this reign has held for a couple years now with Ben taking out a 4x4 post?! and surviving. The coach must actually witness the great crash for it to count. Erica Jach and Jackson Carter both had spills that I was sure would take the title, but he stressed that he must witness the entire crash. This is all done in fun and Ben Momber you have been more than gracious with this reign over "best crash". We are glad that you and everyone on the team has survived those nasty spills over the years!

Kaylie Mathieu earned ALL REGION! To achieve this you must be in the top 15 of the region, with the top 10 going on to State. Congratulations Kaylie!

It's been a pleasure to be your "reporter" and to experience the team unity and bond that all 3 schools have shown this year. Mr.Mathieu, Mr Brooks, moms and dads...thank you for all that you do at the races and practices for ALL the kids. You also have shown a unity that warms the heart. Thank you Coach Mike Waning for putting up with all the picture taking tonight and at all the races! (It's a "mom" thing) *GRIN* If anyone is interested in being on the Ski Team next year you may contact Mike Waning or any ski team member. See you all next year!
