November 15, Chris Smith shot his buck. In the afternoon, Chris took his buck to the Tb testing station in Manistee so that he could help the state find out if the deer in our area are infected with Bovine TB.

He filled out papers as to the location he shot it. The DNR measured antlers, looked in its nose and mouth, checked his age, and checked his chest cavity for lesions. They then gave him a tag to put in the jaw of the bucks head. When he is ready to get it processed, the head will be removed behind the lymph gland area and the entire head will be sent down state to be tested further for TB. He was also given a large patch that shows he was a successful hunter and also a deer management cooperator. He will receive the results about his buck's TB testing by mail. Hopefully, with Christopher and other hunters participation in this, they will get control of the Bovine TB problem. He has had a very interesting day to say the least!
