In Fourth Grade Social Studies, we have been learning that our country is divided into 5 main regions: West, Southwest, Middle West, Northeast, and Southeast. As a culmination to our unit of study, each student was assigned one region of the United States. 

The assignment was to research and share information about the region in the form of virtual “suitcase.”

 Each student received a “suitcase” (manila folder) and filled it with information about the landforms, climate, natural resources, and special features of the area. They also included a letter to the teacher about their trip to the region with interesting details about things one would see or do during a visit to this part of the country. Finally, they filled the folder with maps and other items that someone might bring home as souvenirs from a trip. 

The results were fantastic!
