Once again the Onekama Third Grade Students swept the Arcadia Beach as part of the Coastal Clean-Up program through the Ocean Conservancy.

Students kept track of items picked up so that the class could send a report to the Alliance of the Great Lakes. There they tally all reports sent in from groups like ours all around the Great Lakes. The students did a great job.

On the beach the students viewed the remains from the Minnehaha ship wreck which washed ashore near Arcadia. The Minnehaha was a 200 foot, four-mast schooner that ran aground and broke up on October 13, 1893 about a quarter mile offshore between Arcadia and Burnham.
