During language class, 5th grade students downloaded photos from the Onekama School Website. They pasted the photos into a Google document and wrote about it.  When done they sent their finished document to the school webmaster.

For Halloween this year our class had a party. We had a lot of fun. There were a lot of snacks, games, and picture taking. I thought the funnest game of all was the doughnut eating contest. This picture was taken in the office when we stopped by to show them our costumes. I was dressed as Indiana Jones. Some other games I played were twister, guess what I am, and pumpkin bowling. They were all very fun games. I had a very good time playing these games. So that was the story of our 2011 class party. ~by Blake

At my Halloween party this year we had a donut eating contest. I won one time, but I won twister a lot more! I was a girl for Halloween. I was supporting breast cancer so I wore all pink. In this picture I am not wearing my pink wig. It was a cool one too! When my friends saw my costume they laughed. I didn’t really care tho because I thought it was cool. At the end of the day we played guess who it was really fun! That night I had got a lot of candy. ~by Morley

Mrs. Brown’s class made a scarecrow. Mrs. Brown’s class made a scarecrow and we had to get a picture.  The scarecrow’s clothes were put on by Blake, Mrs. Brown, and I. We got some pictures with the scarecrow. Rylan and I got a picture alone with the scarecrow. The scarecrow was a silly cop. We got a picture at the bus loading zone at school. We put the scarecrow downtown by the Library. It was the Fall Festival. We had a great time putting the scarecrow together. ~by Trent

In Science we got wires, batteries, and light bulbs. We tried to get electricity flowing through the wire so it would lite up the light bulb. There was two kinds of circuits we had to make. The two of them were a series circuit and a parallel circuit. We tried to wire a switch to turn the bulb on and off. It did not work. Last year we got up to Seven light bulbs working at a time. It was almost the record. The record was Eight. This year we only got five to work. It was the most in the class. I only got shocked once. It was fun making the electricity flow to the light bulb. ~by Brendan

I play basketball for the Onekama Portagers. This is when someone fouled on me so I got two free throws. I made both of my free throws. My number is 11.  My favorite thing in a game is when My team is on defence.  I play as a wing and a point guard. I love to play as a point guard. I play with my two best friends Katie, and Kelsey. I am very proud to have the number 11 because my aunt Tracy and my aunt Lauren had number 11. When I play I get hurt a lot. I love to play basketball. ~Chloe

On Halloween my class had a Halloween party.  I was a pirate. Mrs. Brown told use after lunch we were going to put are costume on and after we got are  costume on we were going to go outside to take pictures with are scare crow and are pumpkin with us. Then we were going to go in are classroom and we were going to party. After we were done with some games Mrs. Brown said who has tolpaper for mummy rap. Ashlee and I said we do and me and Ashlee were going to do it together. Then I was rapping her first and I was all most done and the tolapaper ran out. Then Ashlee got her tolapaper to mummy rap me. She was all most done and then the tolapaper ripped then she got another part of the tolapaper. Then her tolapaper ran out, and Mrs. Brown took a picture. Then we were done and then we went in are classroom to party with are friends. Mrs. Brown put donuts on string, and Mrs. Brown was picking people from sticks. Then that was done and we got games out again and the one I like the most was twister. It was so cool and I beat some of my friends, and I took a brake. Then I got hungry and thristy because I was so tired from doing twister. Then the party was over and I was mad and sad but I had really fun. This is when we had a Halloween party. ~by Haley G.
