Exploring White Pine Village

Fourth Grade

October 2010

At white pine village my favorite part was the Marchido school house. I liked it because we got to go inside. There was a pretend teacher. She told us stuff they would do. We got to sit in the chairs. They also let us write our names on the slates. We went in the William Anderson Sr. Hardware store. They had old horse bits, toaster, and light bulbs. There was a person in there too. He told my group about a lot of the stuff in there.     ~Hope S.

 

          On October, 7, 2010 we went to White Pine Village for a field trip. I went to a trapper’s cabin. It was so cool. There was animal fur every where. The saw mill was cool too. There was a giant saw thing. It was cool seeing the wood getting cut in half. The Courthouse was cool also. We got to see the prison. The field trip was fun.  ~B.A.

  I went to white pine village on 7. I went with my mom and my class. I went and I saw a lot of old stuff and house. I liked the trapper's cabin and lot I saw fox fur and a lot of other fur off animals. I also saw the doctor’s house a kid swallowed a penny and a other kid swallowed a toothbrush. I saw the old chapel there was a girl that lived for four mouths. I liked the post office I saw stuff they used back then that they don't used today. They use a scale to their boxes back they were small boxes and they were big scales.    ~ By: Rylan 

White pine village is fun because white pine village had antiques. The school has a stick and a flag 44 stars instead of 50 stars. Then we went to the chapel it was cool because it had an organ. The lady told us where we half to go. Then we had to go I wish we get to go agin. ~K.C.

            On October 7, 2010 we went to White Pine Village. We had to fill out a sheet of what we saw. My partner was D'Annglo. Our chaperon was my grandma. The first thing we did was we went to the saw mill. Then we went to the trappers cabin. WE saw a otter skin, a skunk, deer, red fox and a coyote. Then we went to the fist Mason County courthouse. We saw the jail. Then we got to sow. Then we went on a hay ride. Then we went to the Black Smith Shop. There were a lot of tools. Then we went to the school. There were 15 minute classes. When I went Ben J. sat in dunce chair. The last thing we did was got ice cream. IT WAS FUN!!! ~Brendan

On October 7, 2010 my class went to White Pine Village. We went to an old schoolhouse. I got to sit in the dunce chair! Everybody got to laugh at me and make faces. We also went to a trapper's cabin. It was very cool. There was red fox pelts, coyote pelts, gray fox pelts, beaver pelts, otter pelts, and some more. It was also used as a post office it cost 45 cents to send a letter. Then, we went to a place where a man made apple cider. He told us the difference between apple juice and apple cider. The man told us apple cider is healthier than apple juice. The sawmill was pretty cool too. There was a huge tractor-powered saw. There was a conveyor belt to carry out sawdust. Then a man who ran the sawmill took us into 2 different cabins. In one we got to build mini cabin out of huge Lincoln logs. White Pine Village was fun. ~B.J.

I want to white pine village. We went in the marchioness school house. In the school house if they were being bad te gat spict. we went in the chapel she was talking a long time. I eat this grass stiff. ~A.H.

I really liked the barn at white pine village. We all loved the syrup cane. The syrup tasted like raisins. The farmhouse at wpv had soup cooking. At the gift shop I got a collectable car. Me and Colin played with our cars on the way home. TheCourthouse was cool too. We got to see an old jail cell. ~Jarrett

My favorite white pine village activity was when my group got to go and see the court house.  Inside the court house we saw room that was filled with chairs and books this room was where they held court. We also saw a jail in which was under ground the floor was made of dirt and had no bathroom and no bed but it does have a small chair. We also saw a lady who was working on a loom project She let us try it. It was very fun but all we got to do was push a pettel and drag the  thingy through. Upstairs we saw a couple of rooms that rather looked like they were rooms of a house which I’m pretty sure they were. Amanda. B

At white pine village with my class we had ice cream.  There was only chocolate and vanilla and I had chocolate like my mom and Sam. Kaitlyn had vanilla. I didn’t believe the ice cream guy when he said chocolate was made out of vanilla until he showed me a pic of someone pouring chocolate into the vanilla. It tasted creamy. Sam said it was ice CREAM I said it had chunks of ice she said it was Ice cream. ~McKenna

 At the white pine village got ice cream. It was vary yummy. I want to the Doctors Office it was fun. I found the cloos. We got to go to a stoer. I got a rege and a rook. Then we got a picture takn. It was reite fun. ~Deeann

My class and I went to white pine village we went to the Hardware store. They had a toaster, washer and dryer. It had a typewriter. It also had hammers and nails. The nail boxes were really cool!! Then we went home. It was a fun day. ~Colin V.

My favorite thing was the trapper's cabin. I liked the hides in it. It was fun for a day. I also liked how the cabin was made. I also liked the ice cream at town hall.  ~D'Anglo

  The place I am talking about is the white pine chapel. We stopped there for a question that was on our sheet. When we went inside we saw an old lady playing the dulcimer. We listened to her for a while and then we went to answer the questions. After a while we talked to her again. Then we went off and looked at other places. ~Blake S.

On October 7 we went to White Pine Village. In the post office there was little mail boxes. Some were big some where medium and small. It took a minute or two to count them all.  My group was mason, Coiln, Chole and my mom. I had fun at White pine village.  ~Maggie

My favorite thing in white pine village  is the fire house because my mom  and dad are  one my moms name is Jessica my dads name is Ryan every Monday my parents have to go when I grow up I an going to be a fire fighter this is what I like in white pine village    Ashlee C.

          On October 7 2010 the 4gr went to white pine village. I went with hope Olivia and her mother. My favorite part was the old school house. We all went into the old school.   We had to write cursive hand writing and not band or thingers. It was vary hard. My other favorite part was barn house. Their was 2 bad rooms and 9 people. They did not have a bathroom or a toilet or a bath tube. ~K.K.  

   Last weak we went to White Pine Village. My favorite part is the Marchido School. I learned that back then they had a one room school room. If you poll someones hair you wued wear the duns hat.  It went to kindergarten to 8 grade. After school was over I told my chaperone I did not wont to go to that school. After that we had to go. When the 4rth grade class went to white pine village. We road the bus to white pine village and When we got there we were split up into groups with chaperones. My chaperone was Randy Hopwood. My friends in my group were Ben, Aric, Nathan, and Eric c. We were there from 9;00 to 2;30. We road the hail bale ride. We went to the sawmill and watched a guy cut wood from power by tractor. After that we went to the first mason county courthouse. And the end of the day we went to the stage they had there and got a class picture. At white pine village we went to see a blacksmith. The chaperone is Randy Hopwood. We went on a carege ride with some ludington kids. We went to the gift shop and Aric bought lafy tafys for his dad. It wassssss a blast with Aric, Trent, Eric, and Nathan which is me. ~NATHAN

When we went to White Pine Village I went to the court house. When me and my friends went inside we saw a house and a court house it was awesome! We figured out were the bathroom was it was a bowl.....Because they had no electricity. Then this lady showed us how to use a old fashion kiting thing. It was very easy to do Mckenna had a little trouble with it. I had a good time at the White Pine Village. Samantha B.

   On Thursday we went to white pine village. At white pine village we went to the Marchido School and got ice cream at town hall. I had chocolate ice cream. My mom was my chaperone for the field trip. We had to answer questions on the field trip. At the school we leaned how to write the way they did and she told a story about a boy that got a new bike. ~sm

My favorite thing in white pine village  is the fire house because my mom  and dad are one. my moms name is Jessica my dads name is Ryan every Monday my parents have to go. when I grow up I an going to be a fire fighter. this is what I like in white pine village    ~Ashlee C.
